Deangelo clay awarded sparta invite mvw

Junior Deangelo Clay from Monona Grove/McFarland was named the Brian Brooks Most Outstanding Wrestler at this year’s Sparta Invitational. Clay, the D1 #2-ranked heavyweight, dominated his weight class, pinning D2 #10-ranked Jackson Meyer of Neillsville in 2:27.

On behalf of the Sparta Wrestling Club, Deangelo has earned the Brian Brooks Most Outstanding Wrestler Scholarship for the Sparta Invitational. This respected scholarship recognizes your outstanding performance during the 2026 Sparta Invitational. 

As the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Sparta Invitational, you have demonstrated exceptional dedication, skill, and a positive attitude toward your teammates, coaches, and opponents. These qualities embody the spirit and values that the Brian Brooks Scholarship seeks to honor.

The scholarship award is in the amount of $500.00 and is intended to support your future endeavors.
