Sparta-Holmen Updates...

8:12 pm --  And for the last two matches of the night...  At 285 pounds, Holmen's Trevor Scholze pinned Steven Stevenson in 1:45.  The final match of the night saw Sparta's Bryce Nowaczyk decision Avery Hackett 5-3.  In the end, it was Sparta 38 - Holmen 21.9:45 pm --  Make it three more for Sparta and the dual.  At 171 pounds, Brandon Brueggen decisioned Holmen's Dylan Addleman 5-2.  Following Brueggen's victory, Jordan Stanek pinned Ben Fiers in 3:15 and Matt Tourdot pinned Dylan Eickmeier in 3:24.  The three victories sealed the match for Sparta and gave the Spartans a 35-15 lead with two matches to go.9:26 pm --  As expected, things just got a little tighter.  Holmen answered Sparta's run of three straight wins with three of their own.  At 145 pounds, Holmen's Luke Meddinger defeated Nick Anderson 2-1.  At 152 pounds, Ian Hackett of Holmen took down Morgan Leis by a score of 9-3.  And at 160 pounds, Tom Tourdot lost a match in overtime 6-4 to Isaac Hackett.  The score is now Sparta 20 - Holmen 15.8:55 pm --  Here's the latest from Holmen...  At 130 pounds, Toby Mosely started off a bad night for the Griffing family by pinning John Griffing in 2:32.  Next up, Derek VonRuden pinned Jordan Griffing in 1:18 to give Sparta back-to-back pins.  And the third match was the charm seeing 140-pounder Logan Denasha pick up a major decision victory against Tyler Westpfahl by a score of 17-6.  The score now stands at Sparta 20 - Holmen 6.  The next four matches are expected to be tight so these two pins and a major decision could be big as the night progresses.8:39 pm --  Tonight's match started at 112 pounds and saw Holmen's James Bennett defeat Sparta's Adam Weidl by a score of 7-4.  Following that match, we saw the dominating debut of Spartan sophomore Brandon Rickert as he racked up eight takedowns en route to an 18-6 victory over Dan Nictum.  At 125 pounds, Holmen's Sam Schank defeated Nick Winchel by a score of 7-2.  After three matches, the score is Holmen 6 - Sparta 4.8:12 pm --  Mike Montgomery will be phoning in results to the headquarters of Spartanwrestling.com and every 10-15 minutes we should have match updates.  The match just started so check back here often for the latest results...
